"Inspiring Surgeons of the Future"


Newcastle University Surgical Society is proud to present our third annual conference. 


The conference will take place on Saturday 18th March 2017 and will be hosted in the David Shaw lecture theatre.


Schedule for the day:


Morning - Four speakers and three student presentations

  • Professor Derek Manas - Director of the Institute of Transplantation

  • Mrs Anne Lawson - Consultant Paediatric Surgeon

  • Mr Tobian Muir - Consultant Plastic Surgeon

  3. Hand back slab plastering

  4. Surgical Crystal Maze


We are also accepting abstract submissions, for audit and research projects, with the opportunity to win national prizes for oral and poster presentations! (Deadline TBC). 


In addition, everyone who attends will receive a certificate of attendance, which will look great on your portfolio!


This will be national surgical conference aimed at providing information and guidance for those interested in a surgical career, by developing surgical skills and preparation for theatre. There will also be the opportunity for the chance to present their work including, research, audits and case studies and have feedback from the consultant judges.
